Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) is an American performer, actor, and dancer. Early Broadway parts are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in an Play. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside well-known directors and actors in stage films and television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford will be next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working on the film of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to return in 2023. He will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the musical. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the nation's crisis, which swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over 100 years. She was also the lead in two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role as Essie. Additional Broadway performances for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this performance she received the Tony Award nomination. Ashford is an Denver native who now divides his time between Los Angeles.
